Your GP, physician, or surgeon may provide a referral to Longueville Private Hospital.

Understanding Your Treatment
You are entitled to a concise, clear and understandable explanation of your care. Do not hesitate to ask your doctor for any information. Feel free to ask the Registered Nurse looking after you to contact any person with whom you would like to discuss a problem or your treatment.

Longueville Private Hospital prides itself on its experienced nursing and allied health care staff. Your care and comfort is of utmost importance to our team at all times, so please inform a staff member if you require anything.

Individual patient-centred care plans are used in your care. You can expect our health care professionals to involve you and your carers in your own health care.  Nursing ‘handover’ of care at the bedside is practised, involving you, the patient.

Adequate time is allowed for you to talk about any concerns that you may have.

Patient Fees

Longueville Private Hospital has provider agreements with the Department of Veteran Affairs, and all major health funds, who will cover your treatment costs depending on your level of cover.

Once we have received your referral we can provide you with an estimate of any out-of-pocket expenses you may be responsible for. All out of pocket expenses must be paid prior to your discharge.

Prior approval is required for compensable patients i.e. WorkCover, Third Party.

A holding deposit is required on admission for all patients, this is to cover any added expenses such as X-rays, pharmacy or phone calls that might be accrued during hospitalisation.

If you do not have private health insurance please contact our Administration team prior to your admission to obtain an estimate of the cost of your stay. The whole estimate is required to be paid on admission.

On admission we will confirm details, answer any questions you may have, and explain our billing procedure.

Your Account
Prior to your discharge the arrangements for your account will be finalised. We will organise to claim the appropriate payment from your health fund. Any other costs not covered by your fund are payable on the day you leave. Accounts may be paid by cheque, cash, credit card (Bankcard, MasterCard, Visa or American Express) or via EFTPOS facility.
